The safeguarding of individuals – children, adolescents, adults and families – is paramount at Just Family CIC.
All relevant and required safeguarding policies and procedures are in place and reviewed regularly. Safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children can:
- improve mental health (address depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, substance misuse);
- reduce social isolation and loneliness;
- increase engagement in specialist support; promote better family cohesion and relationships;
- reduce the number of crisis points and demands on local services.
All personnel at Just Family CIC including directors and managers, practitioners, volunteers and parent ambassadors have attended bespoke accredited safeguarding training via Support Staffordshire.
Bi-annual enhanced DBS checks are undertaken for all personnel, regardless of their role / position at Just Family CIC.
As the safeguarding lead, the supervision process is carried out by Janine Proctor (Founder/Director) on both a monthly and an ad-hoc basis as deemed necessary to ensure the promotion of quality monitoring. This approach leads to improved outcomes for all work carried out with individuals, parent, carers, children, young people and their families.
Regular supervision also provides all our practitioners and volunteers with direct support to cope with the emotional demands of working with children, young people and their families and carers.
All specialist practitioners commissioned or introduced by Just Family CIC to support our activities have access to external clinical supervision on a monthly basis.
